Judgement is card number 20 in the Tarot’s Major Arcana. In numerology, the number 20 has the frequency of intuition, harmony, balance, and partnerships—a number with the vibration of a spiritual rebirth and transformation. The number 20 is also commonly reduced further in numerology, 2 + 0 = 2. For more on the number 2’s meaning and insight, check out The High Priestess card here

Judgement’s card comes up to bring about a time of revelation, inner reflection, and evaluation, leading to a profound period of spiritual awakening. With the help of divine forces, the time has come to face and release the burdens that have been continually felt and brought to the surface by the tiresome inner judge. You’re now beckoned to shed this cumbersome weight and move forward to a higher state of being. While vulnerable to endure, the power of self-acceptance and inner peace pave the way for this meaningful perspective shift and deeper understanding. Allowing things to be seen as they truly are, rather than through a skewed emotional and wounded lens. This Judgment’s new insight provides substantial growth and a release of unnecessary suffering with it. With a renewed sense of what's needed, how to be true to yourself, and your needs, can this personal transformation help you align with your higher purpose.

  • General Meaning - Awakening, renewal, rebirth, self-love, self-compassion, inner calling, purpose, & evaluation.

  • When out of Alignment - Self-doubt, judgmental, inability to move forward, critical, self-loathing, & lack of self-awareness

Navigating Judgement’s archetypal energy-

It’s time. The universe is letting you know you’re ready to level up spiritually, so the only question is, are you prepared to make the necessary judgement to do so? Allow the fog to clear and shed new light on what needs to be assessed for an impartial decision to be made. Forgive yourself for past instances of unknowingly standing in your own way, and give yourself love, grace, and acceptance in its place to release the harsh inner critic holding you back from this rebirth. It can often be easier to understand and accept others than it is to offer ourselves the same support and compassion. Feeling that compassion is reserved for someone else, with it never occurring to us to feel it for ourselves in turn. Now is the time to make peace with the 'should have, would have, could have’s of the past and realize that everything unfolded as it was supposed to, allowing the lesson to unfold and arrive right at this important moment of growth. It’s up to you: will you listen to your intuition and take the call to move forward into a higher state of being, or will you choose to keep things status quo, unaware of what’s waiting for you on the other side?

In this card, we see Judgement depicted as a double image, showing a woman undergoing a rebirth transformation. Letting herself be vulnerable and rise above inadequate feelings that were making her feel small and unworthy, to a glorious state of inner freedom. We can see energy radiating around her head and especially her crown center as she rises, showing the divine assistance she’s receiving to do this profound inner work. When she’s shrunken down, we see seaweed behind her, showing a visual of what can tether and weigh us down to keep us small. The water background represents the deep mind and inner work of this rebirth.

Next up, the last card in The Green Mountain Major Arcana’s collection, the grand finale to our journey, what we have been building up to, The World. For those following along on this storytelling archetypal adventure, I hope you’re as excited about its release as I am!

With love,
