The Star is card number 17 in the Tarot’s Major Arcana. In numerology, the number 17 signifies spiritual insight, new beginnings, wisdom, and introspection. It’s also commonly reduced to 1 + 7 = 8, the meaning of the number 8 is further explored in Strength’s card here.
The Star is a positive omen following a period of darkness and challenge. The storm has passed, and the hardships endured can now fade away, leaving a feeling of hope and inner peace in their place. The Star’s lesson is about finding the silver lining and connecting to the bigger picture of life, to better days to come. So take a deep breath, let out a sigh of relief, and allow the heavy weight to drop from your shoulders. This time of spiritual renewal illuminates that the difficulty experienced wasn’t what it initially appeared to be, and instead provided an experience showing the level of depth and resilience the soul is capable of. Old thought patterns and belief systems have now been stripped away to make room for deeper purpose and meaning. Believe in yourself and what’s possible as you dream big with the magical energy surrounding you. Dear Star, feel the divine connection and shine bright into the darkness; the hope and peace you feel is real; all will be well.

Navigating The Star’s archetypal energy-
Following the chaos of The Tower’s lesson and the discomfort endured, it leaves in its wake a new, spiritual self that has been exposed, made vulnerable, and more radiant than ever. The Star marks a new phase of life that’s compassionate and loving, an energy that couldn’t be experienced or understood previously. Representing the epiphany moment when deep inner peace is felt, when you know it’s all going to work out. Bringing with it a sparkly, uplifting energy that illuminates through you and may even make you smile with appreciation. A lesson of earned experience that feels deeply satisfying once on the other side and able to see and understand it more clearly. When this card comes up, reflect on the heart-opening wisdom you’ve gained and let it sink in, knowing you’ll forever be grateful for the gift it’s given you.
In this card, we see The Star smiling to herself, full of faith and hope now that the clouds have parted and the storm has passed, leaving a beautiful sunset to enjoy. Twirling in a purple dress symbolizing the magick embodied now radiates outward and is fully celebrated during this time. Standing in the water symbolizes a divine intuitive connection experienced. We can also see seven smaller stars in the sky representing the seven chakras and spiritual awakening that has occurred. Along with a singular large star in the center representing the essence now experienced fully and more open than before.
